This is the master rules set for tk admins and players alike to keep an eye on.
These rules along with some morality practices and possible circumstancial developments dictate action by administration against players for specific reasons.
These rules may be updated without notice by the developers, and some requests for new or changed rules may be made through the request feature.
The primary maintainer of these rules and the administration staff in general is x0, AKA Ultron.
Player action:
Administrators are not the only ones who can get things done. The /flag command will allow any player to flag any other player for doing something that could be a violation of these rules or otherwise should not be allowed. This sends a notice to developers and we will consider it. Please do not spam flags, only one per violation per player. Thank you.
The /request command can be used to report bugs or suggestions for us to view. These usually get viewed less often than flags, so please be patient with us.
Administrative action:
Under administration practices, there are 5 levels of warnings, the higher levels meaning more severe offenses. A player should never receive the same level of warning for the same offense more than once, but instead the level should increase each time. If a player receives a warning for one type of offense, and then commits another offense that would be a lower level, the level of the first warning should instead be increased by one.
The action of kicking a player is permitted after a level 2 warning has been issued.
Banning a player is only allowed after a level 4 warning has been received, and a flag should generally also be present though is not required.
Under a level 4 warning, the ban must be temporary, lasting for 5 days or less, to make sure the affected player knows you mean business. A permanent ban is only permitted after a level 5.
Player offenses, offenses commited by any player, including administrators:
spam:
Spam is defined as repeatedly performing an action at a rate and/or amount that will cause annoyance to one or more other players.
Actions of spam include, but are not limited to, chatting at extremely fast rates, creating multiple accounts with the purpose of harassing players, sending a repeated message many times, sending nonsense messages generally composed of garbage such as random characters with no meaning, and behavior via certain items that will inevitably cause large amounts of server lag.
This would start from a level 1 warning upwards, though initial warnings can verry depending on specific circumstances.
Under certain circumstances chatting in other languages may be considered by administration as spam, especially so if it is between only two people. If between only two people, it can very well be done in pm's and not over the public chat. This situation, however, is a lower level than general spam, as in some cases the people committing said offense are not aware of what administration staff may be saying to them, and so should be handled lightly and hopefully with someone who can translate our messages from English to whatever language is necessary. Try helping them bridge the gap before using warnings in this scenario.
cheating:
Cheating is defined simply and morally, abusing a bug or other such abuses that unlevel the entire playing field with no way to level it again. If you find a bug that could be used for cheating, please let us know.
One of the prime examples of cheating is going offline during a fight or when someone is near you to avoid being killed. We will hear if you do this deliberately, your menu clicks are audible.
Offline in a fight has a minimum of a level 3.
Sometimes using lag to your advantage to kill anyone without any kind of fair chance, such as an extreme amount of motion bombs, can be considered cheating, and will have a level 2 minimum in this case.
Communication to athorities:
This section is here regarding normal players' communication to administrators and developers. This can be optionally enforced by a particular authority, but generally does not always have to be observed while chatting.
Repeatedly asking an administrator to give you free items is a form of spam, though compliance to give you things will depend on the administrator. If said administrator does not wish to give out any items at all, they should make that clear over chat first, then warnings may start is repeated begging is done. Minimum of level 2.
Under this punishment is also listed the questioning of administration to make you an administrator. The administration staff themselves cannot make anyone an administrator, that falls to the developers. We generally have to personally know you and trust you to give this out, and if we observe abuse we reserve the right to remove your administration rights and possibly inventory at any time. Asking is not completely forbidden, but if the answer is no, the answer is no.
Under no circumstances will requests for the source code of this game to developers be tollerated. It has been observed that the type of players who would ask for this seriously, especially more than once, are the spammy whiney type who will just never actually listen to a no. For this reason this starts at level 3.
If you have any thoughts on these rules, whether they be corrections or additions, please request via /request or contact the developers directly.
